The Argentine Tegu (Salvator merianae) Is quite possibly one of, if not the best giant reptiles you could possibly own. Provided they are properly socialised your tegu will gladly accept a few pets or strokes. Tegus are considered to be the most intelligent lizards in the world rivalled only by the Monitor Lizards. They can even be trained to wear a harness, and provided you have no destination in mind, take your tegu for a walk. Or should I say let the tegu walk you as once a tegu is set on doing something, they are doing it. Join me as we cover the Argentine Tegu and answer the question. Is the Argentine Tegu the best pet reptile for you?
