L Brands, Inc. is an American fashion retailer based in Columbus, Ohio. The company operates several retail chains including Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, Henri Bendel, and La Senza. L Brands is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker LB. The company was founded in 1963 by Leslie Wexner as The Limited, a women's clothing store in Columbus, Ohio. The company went public in 1969, and in 1982 it expanded into the lingerie business with the purchase of Victoria's Secret, a then-small regional chain of women's lingerie stores. In the 1990s and 2000s, the company expanded further, adding several new brands and opening stores in new locations around the world. Today, L Brands is one of the largest fashion retailers in the world, with over 2,000 stores across the globe. The company's brands are some of the most recognizable in the world, and its products are sold in over 100 countries. L Brands is a publicly traded company, listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker LB.
