Sen. Mike Lee joins Managing Editor Bryan Schott from Washington, D.C. to discuss his successful effort to get criminal justice reform passed by Congress.

Lee says he was able to get his colleagues to sign on to the "First Step Act," which implements changes to mandatory minimum sentences and other improvements in the federal justice system, with "a lot of shoe leather" and hard work. He also gives major credit for the bill's passage to Jared Kushner.

Lee also discusses his support for President Trump's decision to withdraw U.S. military from Syria, and whether Congress will be able to reach a deal to avoid a partial government shutdown at the end of this week.
