In his 31 seasons as a high school head coach, Rick Jones accumulated a record of 317-74. He is an 18-time Coach of the Year honoree. He was named the 2012 National Federation of High Schools National Football Coach of the Year, the 2018 AFCA Power of Influence National Coach of the Year, and was inducted into the Oklahoma High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2013, as well as the Harding University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016.
In February 2020, Coach Jones joined the Mizzou staff as special assistant to the head coach. He is a lifelong learner and has a passion for helping coaches grow and develop.
In this episode, guest host Dub Maddox, a former assistant coach for Rick Jones, digs into the way Coach Jones hires coaches and develops staff, as well as gives insight into building a successful career as a coach.
