Urbane, Not Cosmopolitan: The Podcast - Episode Four!

June 06, 2010 06:26 - 21 minutes - 10 MB

I didn't forget about you all! It's just been a very slow two months, in terms of things to say.   In this episode, I read chapter one from the beginning of a novel I started a couple years back. Since I don't know where to take the plot, it's stalled out, but still...I like it. Let me know what you all think.   Closing music is Tom Waits and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band performing "Tootie Ma Is a Big Fine Thing" from the album "Preservation: An Album To Benefit Preservation Hall & Th...

Urbane, Not Cosmopolitan: The Podcast - Episode Three

March 28, 2010 08:34 - 12 minutes - 6.13 MB

In episode three, I ramble for a bit, and then gradually focus on the fact that my blog is celebrating its first anniversary. I share some crazy tunes from Raymond Scott's album, "Manhattan Research, Inc." and blather on a little more. I also imitate George Clooney. Sort of.

Some of the music is from a long defunct album from "Customusic" featured on the WFMU Beware of the Blog a while back. Intro track is "Fly Me to the Moon"...

Urbane, Not Cosmopolitan: The Podcast - Episode One?!

February 27, 2010 04:54 - 12 minutes - 5.97 MB

Yep. I'm podcasting. I explain a little about the blog, I read the very first entry, and I utterly confuse everyone on the way. Why yes, I had been sipping a libation before recording this...why do you ask? Music is from a long defunct album from "Customusic" featured on the WFMU Beware of the Blog a while back. Intro track is "Fly Me to the Moon" performed by B. Howard, underscore is "Misty" performed by E. Garner, and closing music is "Mambo at the Zenda" by R. V. Gill. Enjoy!
