Steve Howell

We interview Steve Howell, an accomplished blues guitarist, vocalist, and historian of the blues, about his journey through the world of blues music.  Along the way, we talk about what defines the blues and the way the blues reach out and touch us on a universal, fundamental human level. We're all always dealing with something, and as long as that is how life goes, we'll always find a home listening to timeless blues songs. 

We also compare the writing of Hemingway, Faulkner, Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Jim Thompson, and James Crumley as they capture the common human struggle the blues epitomize.
