I invite guests to share personal stories about acts of leadership that help shape their lives. In Episode 96, Timm Esque talks about how an instructor caused him to realize he was thinking too much (too much “in his head”). He then shares a story about how a project manager supported his team and went against harmful cultural norms. Timm advises us to pursue embodiment training and explains how this training helped him overcome fear and trust himself more.

Prologue

Timm is an author, instructor, speaker, consultant, and the Managing Partner of East Valley Leader Lab. At the lab, Timm’s organization provides courses that emphasize body and mind (somatic) practices, making leaders more aware of how they are showing up to others, versus simply learning new concepts. Timm started his career with 15 years at Intel Corporation before founding a management consulting company he ran for more than 20 years.
