He co-founded project management software company Basecamp in 2004 with Jason Fried. Basecamp today has more than 100,000 paying customers and has been profitable since day one. They have never taken venture capital, apart from selling a small minority stake to Jeff Bezos in 2006.
David is well known for co-authoring three books: "Rework," "Remote: Office not required" and the recently released "It Doesn't Have to Be Crazy at Work," all around alternative perspectives on the way modern organizations should work and operate.
