Dr. Janet McMordie is a physician (Sport medicine/OR Assist), Adjunct Clinical Professor (University of Toronto), Adjunct Medical Director (Odyssey Medical), and an actor/stunt performer (ACTRA). In this episode, Dr. Janet and I discuss the science of pain and chronic pain - how it affects people, how people seek to manage their pain, and why the science and study of pain is so interesting - especially since there has been a marked increase in people’s pain levels since the start of the pandemic. We discuss some of the functional theories of pain, how dysfunctional pain can lead to tremendous suffering, and what we can start to do about it.
