As a child growing up in South West London, the great outdoors seemed like a world away for Deon Barrett. Fast forward today, he's not only a passionate outdoor adventurer himself, but also a trailblazing inspiration for young people from urban communities. Out of his passion for the outdoors, Deon founded the True North Project. His ambition? To encourage young  people, especially those from ethnic groups and local communities, to embrace the mountains and Mother Nature. He shares the story behind his daring goal to summit Mount Everest by 2025 and his hopes to inspire others to take on their own expeditions, despite their background.
