On this episode of UnAmerican, Brandon, Franklin and Jim begin to discuss America's longest war in Afghanistan. In part one of this three part series we'll examine how September 11, 2001 set the stage for a rapid expansion of presidential powers and how those powers also expanded the stated objectives of our mission against Al-Qaeda and quickly propelled the country into many wars in the Middle East. We'll also look at who benefited the most from the perpetual wars and we'll debate if the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq didn't play out exactly as a few profiteers had anticipated.
