As the holy week of Christians were in the confinement of homes due to Covid-19 pandemic, it was deja-vu for Muslims across the world as they began their holy month of Ramadan this Thursday. China has long been accused of manipulating its economic figures. But this week, it hit international headlines on the revision of its death toll from the Covid-19 pandemic to 4632 nationally, a low number compared to tens of thousands dying in other parts of the world. China’s administrative harshness was felt in Hong Kong on April 18 when police arrested 15 pro-democracy activists. Catholic religious are now becoming frontrunners in the fight against Covid-19 as local governments are seeking their help and institutions as additional hands in India.
