Sexual violence is an unfortunate reality for many. In Canada, sexual assault victimization was more than five times higher among women than menĀ (Statistics Canada, 2021). Of Self-reported sexual assaults, nearly half (47%) were committed against women aged 15 to 24. Winnipeg-based filmmaker Danielle Sturk addresses this grim reality in her new film Why? Sexual Violence and Teens. The film follows young men who share their observations on male culture and society and young women survivors of sexual assault.
