White House CEQ Chairman James Connaughton and German Environment State Secretary Matthias Machnig held a joint press availability with a group of German reporters designed to highlight US-German cooperation on combating climate change. Both underscored the importance of developing new technologies to meet future environmental challenges, and stressed that although the U.S. and Europe may differ in approaches to battling climate change, they share the ultimate goal of reducing emissions.
