In episode 204 of the Man of Screen podcast, Mike Zummo reaches his penultimate episode in his coverage of the Salkind-produced “Adventures of Superboy,” which ran in syndication from 1988 until 1992.

First, we’re going to be treated to a news show. Superboy is reported dead and “Night Time” is on the story. They’ll have interviews with Superboy’s friends, Matt Ritter and Lana Lang. Even some of his old enemies will pop in to give a comment. Who wants his cadaver? Who wants to reminisce and who shows up to gloat?

But is it all true, what will be revealed during this, “Obituary for a Superhero”?

And then we’re going to have some trouble with age. Well, Lana is having some trouble as she appears to have had her youth sucked right out of her. All because she went to the wrong gym. And we finally get an answer to the age-old question, “why would an 80-year-old go drag racing?”

Give up yet?

Well, see what happens when one of our main cast members undergoes a “Metamorphosis”.

Next time: Coverage of “Superboy” concludes with the two-part series finale, “Rites of Passage”.
