Could be that much of the workforce was sent home 1.5 years ago and promised a paycheck every week. While being unemployed, with benefits, many of them found other means to make money, working from home. And now that the businesses are begging for them to come back they decide what they are doing now makes enough money to make ends meet without clocking in somewhere to make money for some CEO fat cat.

Why is it that everyone thinks these people are lazy assess that want to sponge off the system instead of thinking of other possibilities like they are doing better and are happier now holding a job of their own making for themselves. Texas Republicans prove once again that Republicans are hypocrites. The same state that passes laws to take away women's rights to bodily autonomy makes a law to forbid vaccine mandates because it would infringe on bodily autonomy.
