Actually, this is really a western is this weeks theme. Akira Kurosawa's "Yojimbo" (1961), is the film Sergio Leone based "For a Few Dollars More" on. M & A both liked it, but Adam thought it dragged a little. It also lacked the signature Kurosawa shots that are so common in his films. "Sholay" (1975) is the show's first film from India and is considered a benchmark of Indian cinema, but the boys weren't prepared for a 3 + hour film that had every genre thrown in except horror and sci-fi. Both guys used the fast forward button a lot. Though the film does have some worthy moments, it could have been an hour and a half long.
Next: Schools gone bad with "Blackboard Jungle" (1955) and Detachment (2011).
Thanks for listening!
