Hosts Tracy Swain and JaVonne Williams are joined by Pastor Sonya M. Sessoms.  Affectionately known as “Pastor Sone,” Sonya is a wife, mother, entrepreneur, author, and lyricist. She is an all-in Jesus follower who looks for opportunities to share her love for Christ and to fulfill the role of a faith-filled believer. She is known for speaking the truth in love without holding back. She passionately believes that walking in faith is “not hocus pocus, not ‘name it and claim it,’ but being obedient to the voice of the Holy Spirit.” In today's episode, Pastor Sonya shares what was the catalyst for starting her Accounting business and starting a church. She also shares what was the inspiration for writing her book.

How I Faithed It Over is her first published work and was birthed from her passion for God and her love of people. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Pastor Sone maintains a strong connection to her hometown and credits her time at her alma mater, the Philadelphia High School for Girls and Class 241, for helping her begin the journey of self-discovery. Pastor Sone is an alum of Penn State University (B.S.), Regis University (MBA), and Biblical Theological Seminary (now Missio Seminary, MDiv). She started her accounting company and very first business, SMS Works, as a student at Penn State in 2002. In that same year, she and her husband Juan “Darnell Jaxon” Sessoms founded 1Prayz Ministries. They are both accomplished singers, song writers, and producers. 1Prayz’s single, “My Joy,” opened the door for them to let the world in on their passion and love for music. In addition to her accounting company and Ministries, she is also the CEO of a Call Center and a Publishing Company. She is now focusing her energy on her publishing and Life Coaching company and looks forward to making an impact in the lives she encounters.
