Hosts Tracy Swain and JaVonne Williams are joined by Hana Laurenzo who started TLC, a foreign language translation agency, in 2007. After owning and operating a similar business in her hometown of Prague, Czech Republic, Hana earned her master’s degree in translation from Charles University. Being a professional translator and interpreter by background, Hana worked mostly as a high-level conference interpreter in Europe, also becoming one of the first Czechs to be certified for work with the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium, and the European Court of Justice in Strasbourg, France.

Hana’s first business operated in an environment of high demand for the services created by the fall of the Berlin Wall and an influx of Western commerce. “It was great but taught me absolutely nothing about business”, she says. With TLC, Hana focuses completely on running the business, rather than working in it, and is a self-described life-long student of everything business. Hana also sees herself as a cheerleader for her employees, working on creating a culture with happy people. Hana has successfully grown her company to include 12 full time employees, partners with hundreds of translators worldwide and works with large corporations and small businesses.

In today's epsiode, Hana shares the benefits of using translation companies and how they can be utilized to grow businesses globally.

TLC is a WBENC – Certified Women Owned Business. Hana is also one of the featured authors in 'Women in Business – Leading the Way' Book scheduled to be released in Spring 2020.
