Sylvies’s Love (Skootie Skootie Blues)

In this week’s episode the crew gets together to discuss Amazon Prime Video’s Sylvie’s Love. The movie transports the audience to 1950’s Harlem. Where blacks owned business, had dreams, and talent and drive could make all you wish for come true. It was the other side of America for this time period. The side that’s not riddled with ropes, burning crosses and men on horseback. The story is centered around Sylvie and Roberts love and the cruel trick farther time plays. Their love was able to withstand years apart and with each time they would meet, it was clear the bond was more and more undeniable. That love is tested throughout the movie with each reunion being tainted with secrets from their time apart. Ultimately it all comes down to Sylvie’s Love for Robert. Was it enough to make them both look pass the past and leaves their future in the imagination of the audience. It also shows that people been CAPPIN since the 50’s.
