Margo and Lindsey discuss the overwhelming injustices detailed by attorney Bryan Stevenson in his book Just Mercy. Stevenson tells us stories of America's unjustly condemned, against the backdrop of the wrongful conviction of Walter McMillan in 1980s Alabama. While McMillan's story is central and compelling, Stevenson teaches us about how America's justice system treats its most vulnerable defendants, the intellectually disabled, the young, the poor, sick, and grieving. And that even when a man like Walter McMillan gets justice, it does little to absorb the pain caused to communities and victims alike. Join us!!
