Episode 98...The Hauntings of the Hurricane

It's been called the Storm of the Century, Murder at Matecombe, and Hemingway's Hurricane, but most just refer to it as the Labor Day Hurricane.

On September 2, 1935, one of the worst hurricanes in Florida hit the Keys. Workers, looking to improve the conditions of the Overseas Railway were ill prepared and ill defended for the storm as it hit, resulting in close to 500 deaths in a single day. What followed was a Perfect Storm of its own, perfectly setting the backdrop for the unexplained happenings for the next 85 years.

Join Christopher Balzano as he looks at the history of the disaster and the multiple haunted legends the storm spawned. From Key West to Islamorada to Miami, the legacy of the hurricane remains, told in ghost stories and tales of haunted monuments.
