The year was 2001. DJ Shockley was the 18th ranked player in the college football recruiting class. Interestingly, he was ranked one spot behind potential future MLB Hall of Famer, Joe Mauer. But today, we're interested in one of DJ's unheralded, unranked recruiting classmates, David Pollack. David came to Georgia as a fullback. Before his freshman season even started, he was moved to defensive tackle. By his sophomore year, he was moved outside to defensive end, where he would begin a string of unprecedented seasons, All-American awards and positional trophies. Oh, and he was the catalyst behind one of the most iconic plays in Georgia history (the only exceptions probably being Buck Belue to Lindsay Scott and several highlights by Herschel). You know the play.
