Throughout April, 95.1 2BS FM and B-Rock FM are raising funds for the Defence Community Dogs programme located in Bathurst, NSW.  It takes 10 to 12 months and around $10,000 to train one Defence Community Dog.  The programme attracts no State or Federal Government funding.  The dogs chosen for the programme all come from rescue shelters.

They live with selected Inmates at the Bathurst Correctional Centre who train them over a 10 month period to be rehomed with Veterans who need physical and emotional support to deal with injuries and illnesses including Post-traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD). Bathurst is one of only two Centres in Australia where this special programme is run.
