“A Tale of Two Trees”

“A Tale of Two Trees”

Genesis 2:15-17, 3:1-8 & Psalm 1

This week we’ll begin to explore the second theme in our “Woven Through” series: Trees. At the critical moments of Scripture, when God is doing a new thing with God’s people, they often stand in the shadow of a tree. We’ll begin our journey at the very beginning, when God plants a garden with two trees at its center.

SERMON RESOURCES

If you’d like to dive deeper than our sermons will allow,
the folks at The Bible Project have numerous resources (from podcasts to videos) on trees throughout the gospel story.

In his book,Reforesting Faith: What Trees Teach Us About the Nature of God and His Love for Us physician and carpenter Matthew Sleeth explores what trees can teach us about God and ourselves.
