In this first of a two part series Phil explores the relationship of the five-fold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers through the lens of sonship. Each of these five ministries are an expression of Jesus, the Beloved Son and carry a unique dimension of imparting sonship upgrades in the lives of the saints. In this first part, Phil explores how apostles and prophets form the foundation for the life of the New Testament church by creating an apostolic/prophetic environment that pulls heaven to earth. Using the paradigm of Samuel and the “sons of the prophets” Phil paints a portrait of an idealized expression of New Testament church government that is deeply anchored to the presence and voice of God.
