Star Wars games have been few and far between since the acquisition of Lucasfilm by Disney and the dissolution of LucasArts. Needles to say when the surprise announcement of Star Wars: Eclipse occurred with a trailer drop we were excited! However, after reading up on the studio responsible for the game, we were concerned and apprehensive about the game and Lucasfilm's commitment to representation.

This game is set during The High Republic era, an era fleshed out in publishing and known for how good it's representation of women, PoCs, and the LGBTQ+ community. All this great representation in publishing is somehow contradicted by having the game developer be known for anti-LGBTQ+, and misogynistic comments. We explore all this and if we can practice 'death of the author' while contrasting this with J.K. Rowling, her anti-trans views, and the impact on the Wizarding World. Join us!
