The new birth, also called regeneration, is the gateway to the application of redemption to a person whom God has elected from eternity past. In this session, we define regeneration- show why regeneration is essential to entering the kingdom of God- how regeneration replaces the old heart with a new heart and reverses the corruption of the heart, the mind, the will, and affections- we see how the new birth is a monergistic work of God- we look at the divine power exercised in regeneration- and we define the error of baptismal regeneration.
