Repatriation Flights
A repatriation flight is designed to return citizens of a particular country who are stuck abroad home. During this pandemic, there have been several of these flights. Typically, they are arranged by the governments and the citizens have to pay for these flights out of their own pockets.
In episode 18, Cushrow and I spoke with Ram Kumar who took a repatriation flight from London to India. Give that a listen too.
This episode is an excellent insight in a repatriation flight by Stephen Hamilton of Eskay Caterers (a food and beverage consultant and online catering business in Jamaica) who took a repatriation flight from Amsterdam to Kingston, Jamaica.
The flight was on a charter flight operated by TUI.
The flight was full he says
About minute 18, we lost Stephen a bit, but got him back at about minute 19. So don't go away as it gets much better.
