Jordan and Todd join my first roundtable to discuss our favorite horny bunny: The Jackalope!
This chimeric critter sewn together from animal carcasses has been a staple of American folklore for ages!... or at least since the 1930s, as the Jackalope is a relatively modern folkloric invention concocted for the sole purpose of profit. Good ol' American capitalism!
But apart from selling useless shit for a quick buck, this murdered bunny conveys Americana in so many different ways, expressing small town community, settlement of the West, folk art, scientific innovation, and the duality of the real and the imaginal.
Yes, prepare yourself for the most intricate discussion you will ever hear on the Jackalope, as we hop into this rabbit hole and completely lose our sense of time!
