Rinada is a prime example of a hero parent cutting through the red tape to get her son the world he needs while also giving him the room to live it his own way. As a woman of color, she also underlines the importance of storytelling, because when you don't see yourself in the everyday conversation, the everyday portrayal, the everyday slate of leadership and authority, you can feel isolated, and it's not really made better when the inclusion doesn't capture the heart of the experience. Sharing your experience will help others in your community feel empowered to share their stories, too.
