(Oct 2, 2020) New York’s colleges and universities are adopting a cheaper and faster way to test students for COVID-19. Federal regulators have approved a new COVID-19 saliva swab pool test developed by SUNY Upstate Medical University. It allows up to 25 people to be screened at a time with faster results.
The saliva test is currently being implemented at schools across the state college system. SUNY Plattsburgh was one of the first schools to use the saliva swabs; they started using them the first week of September.
