“Our society makes victims feel like villains.”

Final Episode of May’s Mental Health Month

People deal with childhood trauma differently just as the horrible experience is different for every person, for every victim. The only consolation that victims have is a support system that is always there for them, that is present with them when their overwhelming feelings arise and when painful memories are triggered. It is in our support group that we can learn to accept what happened, live through it, and move on with life. But what if we don’t have that kind of support group?

Today’s guest is actress, model, singer, and songwriter Bella Thorne. Warning: We are discussing sensitive topics and our way of dealing with these issues may not be what people might expect. Nonetheless, we get to listen to how a victim and a survivor of sexual abuse grew up to be a forward-focused person, always working hard to make a name for herself, and is now open about her experiences with dating and relationship struggles.
