#31: Bitterness & Betrayal: A Snapshot of Owning a Dance Studio – Part 2

Dana and Scott Bailey from http://danastudio.com/ are back and this episode we are flabbergasted about the fact that dance parents do not want dance studio owners to be financially successful. Dana shares that after being in this business for 25 years she has learned to not pay attention to any distractions from anyone but only concentrates on providing the best dance education for the children in the classrooms.
We discuss that dance studio owners should never become friends with dance parents because they are only friends with them to push their own agendas for the betterment of their own children as Marcella and Gabrielle learned the hard way. Dance parents also have no qualms in USING the children of dance studio owners for fake friendships and when they no longer need them they discard of them.
We discuss Dana and Scott’s amazing Performing Arts Conservatory that Gabrielle’s youngest daughter Jolee goes to. PAC was created because Dana and Scott’s son was a redhead, non athletic dancer in a Texas Highschool that concentrated heavenly on athletics, especially football. Their sons self esteem was very low and he didn’t look at himself in a positive light. At the same time the Texas public school system cut funding for performing arts. It was the perfect time to open the Performing Arts Conservatory. The school has a nationally accredited curriculum that is highly respected by all colleges.
Today their son is a confident young man that has had success in movies and TV shows and is a successful acting teacher that runs his own acting school. PAC is designed for kids that don’t want to waste their time taking classes they have no interest in, but instead get all academics done by 12:30 and from 1 – 4 do the things they are passionate about like acting, singing, dance and music. This will help them excel in the industry. The kids are encouraged to go to auditions and book jobs and they can take the curriculum with them anywhere in the world and still work with their teachers remotely to stay on task.
This school truly is a God send and an amazing place with no cliques, zero tolerance for drugs and bullying. Gabrielle strongly believes that the teachers and the school changed her youngest daughters path of life as she is now a straight A student with a passion to succeed in all areas.
