The Indie Capital program will help make our local coverage more sustainable.

Tone Madison is starting a two-year partnership with Indiegraf, a Vancouver-based company that helps independent publications across the United States and Canada grow. Along with a dozen other publications, we've been chosen for Indiegraf's Indie Capital grant program, which will give us funding and support to continue building up a sustainable model for our coverage of culture and politics in Madison.

Indiegraf's development team is already at work building a revamped Tone Madison website. We're excited to share that with you later this spring. Over the next couple of years of our partnership, Indiegraf will also help us find ways to grow our audience and bring in more revenue. Tone Madison will remain fiercely independent, just with more capacity and more cash.

Donations from readers will continue to be our main source of income—and thanks to the support Tone Madison readers have provided over the years, we're in a good position to take advantage of this opportunity. Working with Indiegraf will give us access to all sorts of technical and business expertise that a tiny publication like Tone Madison doesn't have in-house.

If you'd like to help us out in this exciting new phase, please consider making a donation or signing up for our email newsletter.
