Bruce Springsteen and Elvis Costello fan and my bud Kerry Hannon returns to the radio program and we deep dive into what I am calling “Generation Us”®, it cuts to the bone of what is occurring in work, that this may be your new supervisor or boss-

As Kerry stated, “people want to be around positivity” and she had this list for us-

Don’t think you know it all. It’s important to respect your younger boss and vice versa. They were promoted to that position for a reason.
Be careful about communication challenges. A younger boss may prefer texting over a phone call, for example.
Watch out for the poison of negative emotions. The anger of reporting to a younger boss more than likely stems from not feeling valued and respected; there may be some resentment, too. Plus there s the genuine fear of getting fired if the boss isn t on board with having an older worker on the team.
Manage your attitude. It’s important to see the silver lining in working with someone younger.

With our bonus years staring us in the face, we gotta have a plan, we gotta understand and we gotta work together as a team.
