Do you view God as your father, or just a spiritual police officer? If he’s your father, His instructions are not just a test to see if you’ll make it into heaven. Everything he’s speaking to you is for your benefit in this life. When Jesus is instructing us, it’s to give us the keys to life, and giving us the tools to live life abundantly. Jesus said first take the plank out of your own eye, before you judge the speck in you brothers eye. Jesus is telling us, that the even though we have learned to live with the speck in our own eye, He wants to deal with it.
