Purple Hyacinth Episode 3: Elusive Encounter (with Bundin and Fwoot)

We open with the murderer staring wide eyed at Lauren, his blade nicking her throat. For some mysterious reason, he refrains from killing her. Lauren takes advantage of his hesitation and kicks him in the face, knocking him to the ground.   

She cuffs him and is about to radio in her precinct when the murderer engages her in conversation. He smirks and boasts, and Lauren gets increasingly angry. When he reveals he is an assassin, Lauren flies off her handle and reveals her personal promise to take down the Phantom Scythe. The assassin, realizing the extent of Lauren's hatred, proposes a deal with Lauren.  

Lauren is revulsed by his offer, but before she can do more than hurl one insult at him, he escapes his cuffs and walks away- but not before inadvertently (or purposefully?) admitting that he regrets his deeds.
