Purple Hyacinth 151: Crucial Choice (with Meg and Mossy)

We are screaming puddles.  

On the bridge, Kieran admits to Lauren that Lauren gave him hope, but that he is scared that the Phantom Scythe will use Lauren to blackmail him. Lauren 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 to comfort him, and he accepts it.   

But Kieran continues telling her he is terrified that he will lose her - and 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗸. This is where we scream incoherently and lose our minds.  Kieran pulls away but Lauren reaches out, and 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀, and Kieran tears up! She comforts him and then jokes, trying to lighten his mood.   

We then see Sandman at the APD Police Headquarters. He bears a file to submit. He looks at the nation's flag and throws away his cigar, symbolically throwing his life away for Ardhalis as he proceeds to the station.
