Eric Francis, an editorial and sports photographer, based in Omaha, Nebraska is following his instinct to photograph families who remain in isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic. His goal is to photograph as many families as possible in the "402" area code.
While some call these "porch sessions" or "frontstep project", for Eric it is not only about photographing families or individuals but also checking in with them to see how they are feeling on the day he photographs them. This becomes a much richer record of how a community, and in some sense, the entire nation is dealing with the challenges and the circumstances we face today.
