On this edition of Thursday Night Tailgate we're joined by former Raiders 2 time Super Bowl Champion Tackle Bruce Davis, former Patriots Pro Bowl RB Tony Collins, former Panthers DB Leonard Wheeler, Steelers legend Rocky Bleier and Mississippi State Defensive Line Coach Brian Baker.
Bruce Davis - Bruce shared memories from their 2 Super Bowl victories in 1980 and '83. He shared the story of John Matuszak patrolling the streets of New Orleans to make sure his teammates weren't out late. He also talked about the strengths of Head Coach Tom Flores, and what it was like showing up as an 11th round draft pick and trying to make a name for himself on an Offensive Line which featured Gene Upshaw and Art Shell.
Tony Collins - Tony talked about how teammates view guys who get suspended for PEDs and what it was like when former Raiders FB Mark Van Egan showed up in New England.
Leonard Wheeler - Leonard shared his insights on the Panthers, Cam Newton and Christian McCafrrey. He also talked about what it was like being abruptly retired when he was cut and the phone never rang again.
Rocky Bleier - Rocky shared stories of his coach at Notre Dame Ara Parseghian, the workouts he did to get back from his injuries in Vietnam, plus some of his teammates in Pittsburgh and the reprise of his book Fighting Back.
Brian Baker - Brian talked about his guys on the Defensive Line at Mississippi State, the strength of their Offensive Line and RB Aeris Williams. We also looked ahead to the 2018 season.
