Hunt With The Hounds, And Run With The Hares.

It is Wednesday, 25th November 2020, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for the day.

The Book of Revelation, the last book in the Bible, Chapter 3 and one verse - verse 15, The Lord says:

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.”

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

We are either hot or we are cold, Jesus says.

It is better to have tried and failed than to have never even tried at all.

We can no longer hunt with the hounds, as the saying goes, and run with the hares.

And remember young man, a faint heart never gained a fair maiden.

We can no longer procrastinate - in the Oxford Dictionary it means, “defer until tomorrow morning.”

The Passion Translation says:

“I know all that you do and I know that you are neither frozen in apathy nor fervent with passion. How I wish you were either one or the other.”

Let us not become stale today like stale bread.

You can’t eat that stuff.

I heard a story, a very sad story many years ago, about a lovely young girl from a Christian home, who decided to marry a rabid, card-carrying communist - an atheist who does not even believe in God.

Her parents were devastated.

They said, “How could you do that?”

She said, “Dad, Mom,” with tears in her eyes, “He is the first man that I have ever met who actually wholeheartedly believes in what he is standing for.”

Let us today be decisive, not ashamed of Who we serve.

As Christians, followers of Jesus Christ, let us not be doubtful of our allegiance to God.
