We’re honoured to have Robert Forster as our guest today! The Go-Betweens frontman and solo artist has had an incredibly prolific career, and today he releases his most personal and moving record to date in the form of 'The Candle and The Flame'. Fuelled from saddening circumstances, this record is a snapshot of a family using art as a processing tool and showcases some of Robert's most intimate work yet. In today’s episode, we’re talking with Robert about songwriting through difficult periods, how to use restraint when writing lyrics, collaborating with his son Louis (from indie band The Goon Sax), and why Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) is one of his fave lyricists.
