In this week's show, Mark Winship and Caroline Claydon are joined by Michelle Wales, for a conversation about impostor syndrome, and how many of may have been held back from achieving greatness because of it.

Many of us have experienced this feeling at one time or another, and in this special mind-set episode, the team talk about how to build your confidence in new arenas, the importance of surrounding yourself by the right people and how to avoid the judgment of others.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Impostor syndrome is when we think or present or portray ourselves in a certain way, but internally, we may be feeling unqualified to do so.
Property investing seems to breed much in the way of impostor syndrome, as we all have to begin somewhere. New investors may feel that sense of inexperience for some time, until numerous deals are done.
Never be afraid to show how vulnerable you are. It's okay to not know the answer to every question. We are all always learning. By being receptive to external education, you will engender trust.
Knowledge is an ongoing pursuit, and the journey lasts a lifetime. No matter how much we gain, we can always learn more, and the landscape is always changing.

 BEST MOMENTS

'We tend to hide our achievements. We feel out of our depth. We're afraid of being caught out'

'A lot of people are having to throw themselves in at the deep end'

'If you're always moving up, then you'll always reach a point where you think "How did I get here?"'

'It's okay to show a bit of vulnerability'
