59. The Book of Boba Fett S1E5 Discussion

You can count This is the Way Podcast among the many that would gladly sing the praises of Bryce Dallas Howard this week after a fantastic installment of The Mandalorian, season 2.5 (though it masqueraded as The Book of Boba Fett season 1, episode 5). It's Mando heavy, like a lightsaber in the hands of a novice. There's callbacks to themes galore, even literally (like when Grogu's theme is heard on the star liner while Din Djarin is looking at the bindle bundle). Easter eggs? If you're looking for them, sure. Lore drops? Does the possibility of a mythosaur lurking in the waters below the mines of Mandalore appeal to you?

It turns out watching Star Wars: Rebels actually did pay off. Steve includes a string of clips in this one to show how Caleb Dume (aka Kanan Jarrus) explained the heft of the Darksaber to one Sabine Wren. You know, the young lady that gifted it to Bo-Katan Kryze and brought doom upon the planet? Just kidding. We don't believe in the curse. Unless there was one placed in the beskar hilt by Tarre Vizla through some Force imbuement. Hmmm...

Some might say the best episode of The Book of Boba Fett didn't even feature the namesake, but I have hope that all things will tie together in the end.
