Music for me like many others can feel like the last vestige of freedom in a world of work, work, consume. The advances in home recording, simple online distribution have made creating and releasing music extremely accessible.

But, with the ubiquitous nature of music, 10.000’s of albums at one’s fingertips with the aid of a smartphone and a streaming app, what value does music have for the masses that consume it?

Before the pandemic music venues were shuttering at a rapid rate. This has been exacerbated by the pandemic. With a convoluted rescue plan to attempt to not only save independent music venues, but attempt to save the jobs of the millions now out of work, coupled with the fact that these same venues are fighting to stay alive against venture capital that was made even stronger due to the original CARES act, what will happen to live music in the COVID age and beyond?

We’ll ask these questions and more!
