And that's putting it mildly. It's no surprise that earnings season is upon us. On Thursday, Amazon and Alphabet shocked Wall Street by beating on bottom lines, but disappointing when it came to the top lines.

Another company that may be a market mover is Apple AAPL , which will report on Thursday, Nov. 1. The company will wrap up the FANG earnings.
