Main Show Notes:

Happy Birthday!: The Spoken Token is 2 years old this episode! Since we have a big shindig with our friends at GamePoint Cafe for GenCant 2018 in just a few days, all of our big giveaways are going to be there! And so are we! Thank you so much for coming along with us and we look forward to year three and beyond!!

Asmodee sold itself!  What does this portend for board games worldwide? We dive a little bit into a topic that we will revisit!!

Who is killing it? A list of companies who we each believe has been doing an amazing job in the last 12 months and one company who has done a horrible job in the last 12 months.

Fighting the Cult…of the New: What older games should you revisit that are at least 5 years old? So many titles deserve your time that are not considered “Classics” yet, Alex and Larry take a look.

Does the Spiel des Jahres matter outside of Germany? With their requirements to being legitimately published in the German market, is it really the best game of the year worldwide, or are we just recognizing it because that is what we have been doing? We discuss ideas and offer some thoughts on a solution or alternative to enhance this hallowed event in Board Gaming.
