Today we continue in our study of the book of John, and as Pastor Dustin Clegg walks us through John 6:60-71 he has 4 observations from the text:
(1) Our flesh is completely unhelpful in genuine salvation (John 6:60-65);
(2) Salvation cannot be disconnected from genuine following (John 6:66);
(3) Two things must exist in a genuine confession of faith in Jesus (John 6:67-69) -
a. We must know who Jesus is ("You are the Holy One of God")
b.We must trust Him completely and only ("Lord, to whom will we go");
(4) Proximity to Jesus does not equal genuine salvation (John 6:70-71).
There is a question we must ask ourselves:
What is the thing that if Jesus told you to do it you'd be out?
