This episode is Part One of a four-part series.

Adapted and directed by Corey Bradberry, A WHITE WHALE, OR: MOBY DICK is audio theatre performed entirely without visuals; combining the human voice, recorded sound, live Foley effects, and an original musical score to tell the story.

After losing his leg in pursuit of the devilish white whale Moby Dick, Captain Ahab vows vengeance at all costs, but to what lengths will he turn to seek that vengeance—and at what cost to his crew?

In this four-part audio adventure, A Theater in the Dark cooks up with signature style its adaptation of Herman Melville's MOBY DICK. The April 2021 production was hailed as "brilliantly adapted" (Around the Town Chicago) with "some of the best, most evocative writing I've heard from a theater this year" (Chicago Sun-Times), "wonderful versatile performances" (WDCB Radio), and a "haunting" original score (Buzz Center Stage).

Created by one of Chicago's most innovative theatre groups, this show was originally presented and performed live across the internet and broadcast in real time to audiences across North America. Now A Theater in the Dark invites you to turn off your screen and let your imagination run wild as you come with us into the dark…
